A Unique Partnership Creates a ‘Digital Footprint’ for Pipelines

The ability to trace and track every piece of pipeline used in a project is a powerful tool in ensuring construction safety and pipeline quality.

,

Thanks to a unique partnership between Energy Connections Canada member Vintri Technologies and TC Energy, each piece of TC Energy’s pipe now has a digital footprint that allows it to be traced instantly and accurately. Using 4D technology and Vintri, TC Energy is able to trace pipe materials from the mill through to the construction site. With data such as location, pipe specifics and manufacturing details available in real time, this means material issues anywhere on the pipeline can be more efficiently located, responded to and diagnosed.
